I went to a cat show several years ago and this was one of the beautiful animals there. I was considering drawing several cats as illustrations and selling them as cards, and this was the first one that I completed.

Mink Skull

This was another assignment from my Scientific Illustration class. I believe it's a mink skull. We had to buy a little kit of things to draw, and I got this skull, the cornish hen skull, a frog skeleton, and a green beetle. This was drawn from life (or death, haha).
Gouache and colored pencil on mi-teintes paper.

Feet

I find feet particularly hard to draw. They are a weird shape, and it's hard to get the proportions right.

Cornish Game Hen

I attended a Scientific Illustration program at the U of W extension in Seattle several years ago. It was really fun and very demanding. This was one of the first things I had to draw, the skull of a cornish game hen. This was drawn from life, I think with Rapidograph pen and crowquill pen and ink.
