I look sad in this drawing, but I'm not. I was holding my sketchbook at a weird, uncomfortable angle, and after a while I noticed my neck muscles tensing up and my chin starting to quiver. This was drawn in pencil on cheap sketch paper.

I'm back after a long hiatus! I've been putting in a lot of extra hours painting, and posting to this blog was put on the back burner for a while. I really want to keep up with it, though, so I'm trying something new by preparing several posts in advance. I hope this will work better for me.

Downtown Seattle

I was downtown this weekend snapping photos and took a break to draw this little sketch. Drawing landscapes is hard for me, but I do enjoy it. This is right across from the Seattle Art Museum. I was inspired by the awesome Urban Sketchers blog, the best drawing blog in the world! and also by Seattle's own Gabi Campanario, who blogs at the Seattle Times.

EDM 14 - Draw What You See in the Morning

I had to laugh about this one! I wake up in the dark and don't see anything until I go into the bathroom and turn the light on, so that's what I see. A very uninspired drawing, I must say. I also have a hard time drawing scenes in my small sketchbook, it's very difficult for me to make everything small enough, so it doesn't all fit on the page.

EDM 13 - Draw Your Phone

I wasn't too fond of this one. I don't like phones in general and I hate my own phone, I couldn't even hear out of it, so had to get the headphones to listen to anything. It takes about half a minute for me to answer the phone.

I am so behind on posting to this blog! I get so lazy about scanning anything in. Plus my scanner is very old and freaks out on me every few days, it's a hassle but I can't afford a new one right now.

EDM 12 - Draw What You Ate for Dinner

I eat a big salad every night for dinner. I actually ate two salads a day until recently, I only stopped because I couldn't afford it anymore. The salad consists of: romaine lettuce, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, zucchini, raw beets, radishes, cucumbers, and beans. I use lemon juice and balsamic vinegar for dressing.

Here's another sketch I did while on jury duty. The man looked like he was playing a game on his phone.
